SMS (Short Messaging System)
SMS has been an essential feature in phones for means of communication. Each phone company or provider comes with a SMS , it is quite essential. Think about if SMS wasn’t invented, think about how hard it would have been for people to get in touch if a person wasn’t answering his phone. Messaging makes it very convenient for those who don’t have time to talk and don’t like to speak on the phone. This platform is more common among old people. It doesn’t require Internet Connection however it does require cellular service.
IM (Instant Messaging)
Over the years, instant messaging services have been on a rise due to people upgrading to smart phones. Apps like WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram Direct Messaging and Messenger have increased. These apps all require internet connection and is sent in real time however no thought processing is applied.
Email (Electronic Mail), is a formal platform where people can send emails to people who have an email account. Most times emails are used in businesses or in schools to express concerns. It is very easy to use which is why it still remains popular. Once you have an account with an email service e.g. Gmail or iCloud the possibilities are endless.
